#1 All camelina oil is the same

FALSE! No oil- olive, vegetable, fish or camelina, is the same.

Here's why...

Camelina oil research

First, having quality sourcing of ingredients and precise processing techniques will improve the omega quality and bioavailability your animal needs to see results (beyond a shiny coat).

Excel has worked for 20+ years to develop proprietary camelina varieties, which are optimized to yield the highest level of omegas, sterols and polyphenols. Our control of the entire process, from the planted seed to your animal’s feed enables you to be certain your animal is getting the highest quality supplement available.

#2 Camelina oil is not as beneficial as fish oil

FALSE! Balance of Omegas is KEY to ultimate health

omega balancing act

While fish oil has a high amount of omega-3, it is missing the key balance of omegas needed to support your animal's overall wellness.

The balance of Omega-3 and Omega-6 in a horse's diet is very important for two reasons...

1. Both Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty-acids have important functions within the horse.

2. Balancing the two omega fatty acids is imperative for them to function appropriately within the horses' body.

Where do Omega-3 and Omega-6 come from in a horse's diet?

Because horses are herbivores and grazers, their bodies are naturally inclined to have a higher level of Omega-3 compared to Omega-6.
-Omega-3 intake comes from the small quantities of fat in their forage
-Omega-6 comes from the fats found in the oil of their grain rations

It is believed that a ratio ranging from 2:1 to 5:1 Omega-3 to Omega-6 is optimal for a horse's health. ExcelEQ ProElite, with a ratio of 4:1, is the most influential plant-based omega oil on the market.

#3 Camelina oil does not help with ulcers in horses

According to a 2019 study, this is FALSE!

Based on a 2019 study, 5/6 horses went from positive fecal blood tests (albumin specifically) to negative fecal blood tests.

All surveys noted improvement in clinical signs. Supplementation with ProElite oil at a dosage of 4 ounces daily was correlated with improved fecal blood test results and resolution of clinical signs associated with GI upset.
